Default Forcing Re-Connection

Sometimes I disconnect but the "You have been disconnected" message takes a while to pop-up. I can occasionally be standing or walking around for 5 minutes before the game decides I need to re-connect.

Is there a way for me to force this acknowledgment without closing the game?

You can CTRL + ALT + Delete to bring up task manager and then click "Processes" and end process. Be sure you're not in applications. :] This should allow you to bring GW up again and re-connect

I think he means a forcec reconnect while ingame. Many a time I have been disconnected during a vq or at the end of a dungeon, and have to wait 10 or even more minutes before GW decides to tell me I have been disconnected.

Hmm..Guess im not real sure what you mean.
Your character stands around, unable to move for~5 mins before the screen goes black with the box asking to re-connect?
If thats the case. The option to re-connect only comes up when few enough data packets are being sent to and fro to "Signal"to the servers your PC has no internet connection.
If its what i assume and taking that long to "D/C" you're sending just enough packets to stay connected but not enough for fluid gameplay.

Tl;dr= Try shutting down your router and turning it back on to completely disconnect?

Basically its all down to lag - i had another gd battle other day with lag which ended 1-1 , doing vaeitres and was on top mob ( 36 vaetires ) and almost near the end i got hit bad by lag , slow skills going off etc but i survived ( 1-0 to me ) but on next rezone lag got the better of me at same point , had them balled and skills slowed down - next think flahing skills ( oh no ) and i had the fastest death/rez probably in gw history , 1 sec i was standing and next i was on res shrine full restored ( 1-1 ).
Lag can literally screw you by taking you and the server off sync and usually its your end that seems to be further than the server.Ive seen players in vq suddenly stop at 3/4 thru the vanquish and then get the dc message when we finished the vq about 5 - 10 mins later. His screen showed the other human players as frozen and he was trying to kill foes with hench - very weird lol.
I dont know how gw is setup with server sync but it does appear even if lagging bad small packets ( someone already suggested ) get thru and just fools the server into thinking you are still sync`d and usually its too late when server realises.

Btw the weirdest thing ive actually had and it affected both pc`s just after each other - internet ( web side ) went down and not even ff or ie would connect to web on either pc but you could connect to gw and play fine , had to reset router and reboot both pc`s for full web access again. And in the small timeframe with no web access gw ran perfectly - first time for that lol
